First Week of Writing Month

For those unfamiliar, Writing Month was proposed as an alternative to NaNoWriMo. There's even a site dedicated to it and all, that allows you to track your word count and other goals. You can even add friends, if you need an extra sense of accountability. The one thing I'd like right now are daily word count trackers; only overall total is available at the moment.

And despite the dumpster fire that was the election, I managed to meet my daily goals. Actually, being able to write was one of the few things that helped me cope at the time...Last Train Home, my portal fantasy series, is a story full of hope and discovery. The chapters I've been working on have been very slice of life, as well.

Meanwhile, my elder WIP is much darker by contrast...but at least I'm just editing and revising that one, and not drafting it! I suppose I could power through it, like always, but eh. It's not a worry at the moment.

I've edited over 20k words for Voracity so far this month, with a goal of 50k by the end of the month. Very doable! My goal for Last Train Home is much shorter, with an aim for 20k (roughly 3k count at the moment). I'm trying to keep it low so as not to overwhelm myself while working on my other WIP. I also haven't written for this series for...a good while now, so have to warm up to my characters first. By the end of December, I should have half a season drafted and ready to go!
