“So. Was there a ghost?”

Meike was exhausted when they returned to the inn, so much so that they immediately dived into bed and slept a solid ten hours. Naturally, they were starving when they crawled out, just in time for dinner.

The group gathered at a table in a livelier dining hall. Unfamiliar faces, some furry, some not, came and went. Meike got the impression that winter was a popular time for holidays and other festivities. A few guests, children, judging by their small size, were stringing nuts and popcorn for a tree.

Cass brought Meike back to focus by pouring a mystery liquid into their glass. They could only hope it was non-alcoholic.
