CH 114 — Do It For Them
Pickles led the charge into the house, nose to the ground and tail wiggling. The Galloways followed Meike as far as the living room, where they elected to stay during the inspection. Meike would’ve preferred they stay outside, to reduce any mishaps, but didn’t feel comfortable forcing them out of their own home. That was more Pickles or Anniken’s method.
They lingered in the living room, just long enough to parse the furniture and decorations. The young couple was still very much in the transition phase. Most of their furniture was mismatched and older, possibly donated or passed down from relatives and friends. There was a lot of brown and muted colors, but nothing robust or intriguing. The one spark of uniqueness came in the form of art pieces: pottery, a teal vase, and paintings of wildlife.
The kitchen was sparse, with a few pots and utensils laid out. Meike side-eyed the small fridge, but avoided touching anything. There was nothing of interest here.
